Hapimag increases occupancy in winter 2011/2012

During the past winter season Hapimag has welcomed over 9% more guests than in the previous year and occupancy increased by 2.2%. The resorts and residences in Switzerland saw a slight decline in occupancy.

In total, Hapimag welcomed almost 120 000 people this winter (previous year 110 000). At 56.4%, the occupancy of all 57 resorts and residences in the winter months increased slightly compared to the previous year (54.2%). The highest occupancy of 94.9% was recorded at the San Agustín residence on Tenerife (ES). Overall, the Hapimag addresses on the Mediterranean achieved an occupancy of 56.4% (previous year 55.0%). Alongside the mild temperatures on the Mediterranean, the snow in the mountains also attracted many guests. The Alpine resorts in Austria, France and Switzerland saw slight increases compared to the previous year with an occupancy of 67.3% (previous year 63.6%).

Constant demand in the Swiss resorts

Due to the high exchange rate, the winter occupancy of the Swiss resorts and residences was slightly below that of the previous year at 65.3% (previous year 69.0%) but remains at a high level. As in the previous year, the most populous Swiss resort with an occupancy of 82.5% was Flims (previous year 82.4%). The four Swiss resorts of Andeer, Ascona, Flims and Interlaken achieved a total figure of 75 000 overnight stays over the winter months. The resorts and residences in Austria were able to benefit from the high exchange rate and achieved a higher occupancy than in the previous year of 64.1% (previous year 62.8%).

Good booking levels for the summer season

The summer season at Hapimag has started according to schedule. As in the previous year, booking levels at most resorts and residences remain high. In particular, the seaside addresses and city residences in European capitals have registered pleasing booking figures. Bookings for the beach destinations of Damnoni and Porto Heli (GR) are also very positive. There are still free apartments at the Swiss resorts and residences and free houseboats in France and Germany – perfect for active days in the mountains or relaxation on the water.
