Hapimag, the leading provider of holiday rights of residence in the European market, has reported a successful first half of the year with sales increased by 2.4 per cent and a good occupancy rate across its resorts.
The company enjoyed total sales of 81.9 million euro during the first six months of 2009, compared to 80 million in the same period last year, with its 56 European resorts reporting particularly strong sales despite the economic downturn.
The occupancy rate across all 58 Hapimag resorts in Europe, Africa and the USA was above the average for the industry at 71%, the same as in the previous year.
Hapimag also continued its expansion this year with the opening in February of its new flagship resort in Hörnum, on the North Sea island of Sylt in Germany. The resort has 151 apartments and a wellness area including a top quality Deep Nature Spa, several pools and relaxation areas, and diverse treatments on offer. The new addition has proved to be an immediate success, with the resort almost fully booked (94.5 per cent occupancy) for the rest of the year.
