Holiday Club Saimaa, comprising three different hotel types, villas, flats and holiday homes opened to the public on 1st November this year.
The complex benefits from a luxury spa, an ice arena and a number of restaurants and will soon boast an 18-hole Pay and Play golf course, making it highly attractive to both domestic and international tourists.
The Holiday Club Saimaa spa hotel project is the largest of its type in the Nordic countries, and is set to be important contributor to the economy of Southern Karelia.
The ‘Cirque de Saimaa’ spa borrows its theme from the carnival and circus world. “We wanted our spa to be about atmosphere and experiences, where all the details from materials to lighting have been carefully considered, not forgetting the wow factor,” says Director Jukka-Pekka Pajunen at Holiday Club. “One eye-catcher is the water organ in the middle of the pool area, which starts every hour. Its water jets rise to a height of ten metres accompanied by lights, music and projections.”
Guests may also enjoy Sauna World, which offers a number of options including a salt walled sauna and a Finnish cottage sauna, where rolling in the snow is the norm!
