Industry Gets Behind New UK Charity to Help Wounded Servicemen

There has been an incredible response from the RDO membership to the new charity for recovering armed service families, launched on June 18th by former Secretary of State for Defence the Right Honourable Dr Liam Fox MP.

In partnership with Afghan Heroes, this new initiative is called ‘Give Us Time’ and is to provide families of those recovering from the trauma of combat with a week-long holiday to relax in a quality environment.

This is to be possible thanks to generously donated holidays at timeshare resorts and holiday homes from both members of the public and the timeshare industry itself. RDO members have come forward with offers of holidays in the UK and elsewhere in Europe such as the Canary Islands, Portugal and Spain.

Dr Liam Fox said: “Give Us Time has been made possible thanks to generously donated week-long holidays in second homes, holiday homes and timeshares across the UK and beyond.
“We now look forward to helping those returning from active service recover through this scheme.

Denise Harris, founder of Afghan Heroes added: “When we launched Afghan Heroes, one of our main objectives was to provide support for families of the fallen and those returning from theatre.

“Give Us Time is a fantastic initiative and will go a long way to help those who have put their lives on the line readjust to a normal civilian life.”
