Interval International and Steel Magnolias Honour US Troops in a ‘Year of Giving’

Interval International and Steel Magnolias Ministries/Operation Any Soldier have joined forces to honour more than 100 active military families, wounded warriors, and veterans through the gift of travel. In commemoration of the 10th anniversary of September 11th, U.S. servicemen and women have been presented throughout the past year with week-long, villa vacation stays to enjoy at Interval’s global network of affiliated resorts.

This began when Steel Magnolias co-founder, Deborah Powers-Holloway and her husband, Milton, became Interval members through their timeshare purchase in Virginia Beach, Virginia, approximately five years ago.

Deborah approached Interval suggesting that military families could enjoy the experience too and together they made the “Year of Giving” program a reality. Powers-Holloway’s charity was already creating custom care packages for deployed troops from all branches of service. The organization eagerly embraced the opportunity to add the gift of vacation time and have indicated that they are privileged to play a role in giving back to and creating cherished memories for these families.
