Interval International has announced the affiliation of two properties from Tau Resort’s collection of beachfront and boutique eco-resorts: Tau nahui and Tau Santa Maria in Mexico.
According to Marcos Agostini, Interval International’s vice president for Latin America, the new resorts “will give members the opportunity to experience some of the rich cultural traditions and ecological diversity of this region.”
Tau nahui will be Tau Resort’s first beachfront vacation ownership project, part of a 2100-acre mixed-use community on Banderas Bay, north of Puerto Vallarta. The property will feature 168 two-bedroom units initially, with plans to add up to 450 private residences and a hotel in future. Amenities include a private beach club and water sports centre and a 19-hole golf course. The first phase is scheduled to be ready by early 2011.
Tau Santa Maria is a rustic-style resort on the shores of a lake that covers the crater of a dormant volcano, northeast of Puerto Vallarta. Guests can enjoy a variety of water sports in the mineral-rich lake waters, which are warmed by thermal currents, as well as birdwatching and adventure-oriented activities in the surrounding countryside.
