In the last month, Spanish police has raided three resale companies on the Costa del Sol which are being investigated for alleged fraudulent activities.
Rainbow Solutions Marketing, also called RSSL, was operating in Mijas since summer 2008 using the cold call approach. They were allegedly asking timeshare owners for upfront payments of up to £1,000 but only committed to market the sale of timeshares during twelve months, with no actual guarantee of secured sales.
Avantgarde Management, also operating in Mijas as a resale company, was allegedly asking timeshare owners for money in advance and misusing their personal data.
According to reports in the British press, Spanish police also raided the offices of Starting Point Marketing SL in Fuengirola earlier this month, on the suspicion of fraudulent resale activities.
