From next month, RDO members will be allowed to attend any of the meetings held regularly by the association’s Communications, Legislative and Membership Councils, as a new initiative introduced by RDO this year.
Any members interested in taking part in the Council meetings, or who wish to bring forward a specific topic for discussion, will simply need to notify the chair of the relevant Council and/or the secretariat of their intention to attend at least 30 days in advance according to the RDO Statutes, in order to regulate numbers.
Paul Gardner Bougaard, RDO’s Chief Executive, says: "The decision to open up Council meetings to members is in keeping with our principle of transparency and open dialogue, giving everybody the opportunity to have a say in the issues that really matter to them."
RDO Councils focus on specific areas and are responsible for recommending policy to the RDO Board. The Communications, Legislative and Membership Councils meet quarterly, with the next meetings scheduled for 23 February, 19 May and 8 September 2010.
Those interested in attending the future Council meetings should contact the secretariat at firstname.lastname@example.org.
