Tony Ridl, Managing Director of The Club Leisure Group, was presented with a Lifetime Achievement Award by the Vacation Ownership Association of South Africa (VOASA). This prestigious industry award was handed out at a gala evening during the VOASA annual conference held in Durban on 11 and 12 June 2012.
Throughout the past three decades, Tony Ridl has played an important part in the growth and development of the vacation ownership industry in South Africa, introducing a number of innovative ideas for the improvement and advancement of the industry. During the 80’s, Tony Ridl developed a number of timeshare resorts in South Africa, pioneering the concept of timeshare in Cape Town by developing Bantry Bay International Vacation Resort. This became one of the most successful timeshare developments not only in South Africa, but world-wide.
In 1990, Tony Ridl co-founded South Africa’s first points-based vacation ownership system, Flexi Holiday Club. In 1994, Tony Ridl and Stuart Lamont formed the Club Leisure Group. As a Director and Trustee on numerous shareblock and body corporate timeshare resort boards, including being a Director on all of the Southern Sun group’s timeshare Boards and serving as a Director of VOASA, Tony Ridl is still pioneering new products for the industry.
