More than a year on since the European Parliament and Council of Ministers signed off the new EU Timeshare Directive, RDO is still waiting for drafts of how the new law will look in each member state. Most countries are working on drafts which should be published shortly.
Eugene Miskelly, Chairman of RDO’s Legislative Council, says: “We are carrying on with the ground work so that we are ready. Working groups have been formed to lobby national governments, lead discussions and help develop proposals on new legislation in different countries as soon as the actual proposals for the law in each country are known.”
RDO’s Legislative Council expects activity to build up over the coming months, in preparation for the January deadline.
