The brightest minds in the timeshare and hospitality industry gathered at the Pestana Chelsea Bridge Hotel in London for two days of thought-provoking panel sessions and presentations at RDO5, from 18 to 20 September. The positive vibe from the last edition continued at this year’s conference as delegates embraced the chosen theme, “Stronger Together” to look at ways in which the industry can continue to thrive as the economy recovers.
The programme covered a wide variety of topics, including self-regulation in the industry, top tips for successful sales, redefining products to attract the next generation of buyers, and the opportunities and challenges for the future, with speakers of the calibre of BJ Cunningham, Gerd Leonhard, Dean van Leeuwen, Don Harrill, Jules Murray, Louise Pentland, Michael Levie and Peter Hales.
RDO5 also tackled key issues affecting the industry, such as the risks posed by claims companies and the new regulations for credit lending in the UK imposed by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA), which were the focus of one of the break-out sessions. Those attending were reminded of the importance of ensuring that their company’s documentation is thorough and correct, not just as a requirement from the FCA but also to help them respond to claims.
Robin Mills, Head of RDO’s Conference Working Group, said: “The feedback from those attending RDO5 has been awesome, which is no surprise given the fantastic diversity of speakers that we had this year. They really gave everyone something to think about. I would like to thank all the speakers, and of course all the sponsors that made RDO5 possible. I look forward to an even better conference in Spain next year.”
RDO6 2015 Conference will take place from 17th-19th September at the Don Carlos Leisure Resort & Spa, Marbella.
