Every drop counts as Diamond Resorts International launches its Water Saving Campaign

During the month of October, Diamond Resorts International® proudly presented its inaugural Water Saving Campaign at its European managed properties. As a part of a larger, company-wide initiative to continue becoming an environmentally conscious, sustainable organization, the Diamond Resorts Water Saving Campaign was geared toward creating awareness and educating members, owners, guests and team members about best practices for reducing water consumption both while at home and away on holiday.

The campaign consisted of fun activities for the whole family including educational quizzes to test each individual’s water saving knowledge, and games that taught water saving techniques. Families were invited to participate in the 3-day Family Water Challenge by using a water-saver calculator, provided by the resort, to demonstrate how much water they could save over the course of three days during their stay. Guests who participated in either the quiz or the 3-day challenge were entered for a chance to win the grand prize drawing.

Team members were also invited to join in on the fun by taking their own quiz and participating in a water saving team challenge. During the challenge, group members had to imagine they were a family preparing to go on vacation and had to work together to determine how to use water wisely while completing specific tasks including doing the laundry and washing the dishes.

For a leading company in the hospitality industry with a large global footprint, sustainability is a core value for all of the team members at Diamond Resorts International®. The Water Saving Campaign is just one of three unique sustainability campaigns that have been conducted at its European managed properties in 2016. European resorts also recently hosted Environmental Week and the Electricity Saving Campaign, which both encouraged guests to find ways to be more eco-friendly, reduce consumption and become environmentally conscious. With these one-of-a-kind initiatives, and many more to come, Diamond Resorts continues to make a positive impact on the lives of its guests, communities and ultimately the planet.
