Board & Councils

RDO / Board & Councils

The Management Board is made up of leading figures from the industry who are responsible for the overall policy, strategy and governance of the organisation.

RDO COUNCILS

Separate councils have been established to focus on communications and legislation. Both are chaired by a Board member who is responsible for recommending policy to the Board.

The Communications Council

The Communications Council handles every aspect of the organisation’s communications. Its main role is to analyse the developments within the timeshare industry and to communicate the relevant aspects to its audiences, including the media and politicians.

It also protects the use of the RDO name and logo and directs the production of RDO’s promotional materials, newsletters and other publications as well as the RDO web site. The Council also organises industry events..

The Legislative Council

The Legislative Council represents RDO on Government and EU working parties, monitors and makes representations on proposed legislation and provides legal advice to members through the Communications Council.

RDO’s Legislative Council provides RDO with vital information such as the implementation of the timeshare directive and the position of RDO on various not clearly defined rules. It has also produced a recommended legislation paper for unregulated markets. This takes the best of the timeshare directive providing clarity on issues which RDO believes need to be regulated and on those which can function in a self-regulated industry environment.
