Holiday Club Resorts (HCR) has considerably expanded its existing international portfolio of 31 resorts with five new properties in the Canary Islands, adding 6,000 new owners to its 42,000-strong membership base.
Following a deal with the local Puerto Calma Group, HCR will undertake sales, marketing, resort management and customer services of five resorts on the southern coast of Gran Canaria – Puerto Calma, Vista Amadores, Jardin Amadores, Playa Amadores and Sol Amadores – comprising a total of 241 apartments, all with ocean views, and a wide range of services.
This acquisition represents a big step in the expansion strategy of HCR and will help strengthen the group’s position in the international market, according to Group CEO Vesa Tengman. Mr Tengman also indicated that the expansion would continue: “We are planning to launch at least two other new locations in Southern Europe in the near future, he added.”
Four of the new resorts are located in Amadores and one in the resort of Puerto Rico on the south of Gran Canaria, only a 25 minute drive from the airport. The area’s microclimate is considered amongst the best in the world, with 350 days of sunshine annually and average temperatures of 25C. All five resorts have been designated RCI Gold Crown status.
