With the theme “Sharing Success”, the annual conference of TATOC, The Timeshare Association (Timeshare Owners and Committees), held at the Park Royal Hotel near Warrington, England, from 11 to 13 March 2011, was deemed “excellent”, according to feedback from the more than 100 delegates attending.
Harry Taylor, the current CEO of TATOC who was confirmed as the new Executive Chairman, replacing David Eastburn, said: “The success of the conference can be attributed to the willingness of the industry and consumer committees to move forward, trying to work together to resolve any issues and push the positives of timeshare.”
Keynote speakers engaged in the conference theme of sharing, with RDO’s Chief Executive, Paul Gardner Bougaard, presenting the latest achievements in consumer awareness and Enforcement, and Stuart Lamont from Club Leisure Group providing food for thought by talking about the successes and also the failures for both industry and consumers. Other speakers included Alex Radford from Irwin Mitchell solicitors, amongst others.
TATOC released the latest consumer helpline statistics for the first two months of 2011, which showed an important increase in inbound calls from 1156 in the same period last year to 1420 this year.
Delegates at the Conference raised £4300 for Christel House, the charity that helps children worldwide escape the cycle of poverty and become contributing members of society.
