Members of the RCI exchange holiday programme will now be able to use their membership to holiday in the beautiful mountains of Pirin, close to Bansko, Bulgaria’s number one ski resort. The affiliation of the Balkan Jewel Resort brings the first Bulgarian resort into RCI’s exchange holiday network.
Sitting in the foothills of the Pirin Mountains, the resort overlooks the Ian Woosnam-designed 18-hole Pirin Golf Course and, being a 10-minute drive from the Bansko ski slopes, is ideally situated for family and adventure holidays. On resort, there is plenty to entertain, including a restaurant, fitness and spa centre, indoor swimming pool and children’s playground. For guests looking to get out and about, a free shuttle bus travels to the golf course and into the town of Razlog, as well as to the Gondola lifts to get to the ski slopes of Bansko.
“As we all know, our customers value authentic experiences, adventure and cultural exchanges and we are giving our owners an exceptional opportunity to sample the best of Bulgarian spirit and tradition in a naturally beautiful location,” said Kimberley Stapleton, marketing director, Balkan Jewel Resort Management.
The spacious accommodation options available at Balkan Jewel Resort range from studio to two-bedroom apartments. The resort also offers storage rooms for ski and golf equipment, plus a ski hire chalet where staff will make all bookings and reservations for guests. The many guest services are designed to make a stay at the Balkan Jewel Resort as easy and comfortable as possible and include: babysitting services; free WiFi connection in all apartments and guest areas; car, bicycle and DVD hire; transport to the surrounding areas – which include Greece; excursions; and many on-resort activities and entertainments.
“This is our first resort affiliation in Bulgaria and it couldn’t be better,” said Dimitris Manikis, vice president, Business Development for RCI Europe, Middle East, and Africa. “Balkan Jewel Resort brings the best of ski experiences in Bulgaria to our network of more than 500 ski resorts worldwide. We must not forget that it is also an attractive year-round destination, being located in a place of great natural beauty, with the rich culture and history of Bansko and surrounding towns to bring to the mix. We believe this resort will have a wide appeal to the younger and older, couples and families alike.”
