6 Cyclists, 20 Countries and Happy 50th, Hapimag

This summer, Hapimag is marking 50 successful years in the shared ownership industry and to celebrate, the Swiss brand – which now has over 140,000 members – has come up with an original way to honour its remarkable half century milestone.

Under the banner motto “Experiencing more together”, six intrepid cyclists have set off on an exciting journey along five “Hapimag routes” throughout Europe and into North Africa. The cyclists are getting to know the countries and people, visiting attractions and Hapimag resorts and reporting on their adventures along the way via daily blogs and videos about their personal experiences and encounters.

After some 20 000 kilometres and a few weeks in the saddle, the six “Cyclists on Tour” will arrive at the Hapimag headquarters in Baar near Zurich in Swizerland on the day of Hapimag’s 50th anniversary, 24 September 2013.

20 countries and 5 themes

The cyclists are covering terrain from north to south – they all set off from different destinations including Finland, Turkey, Morocco, Scotland and Hungary and each route has its own special theme:

Nadine Kuijper is cycling from Punkaharju to Baar and looking at the theme of “worlds of style”.

Reto Berner’s theme is “women’s worlds” which will take him through Turkey, Greece and Italy.

Thomas Wetzlmaier is peddling his way across contrasting “dream worlds” between Morocco

and Switzerland, while Jürgen Müller is exploring “hidden worlds” between Edinburgh and Baar”.

Last but not least, Paola and Igel Zimmermann have chosen the theme “Water worlds”, cycling from Budapest to Baar.

Numerous cyclists applied to take part in this historic cycle tour, and after a lot of “auditioning” at Hapimag’s head office in Baar, it came down to the final six!
