Have you heard of the excellent CLC World Charity Holidays programme?

As well as providing amazing holidays, many RDO member resorts are also very generous in terms of their charitable support to a variety of very worthy causes. This often includes large donations within the local community where the resort operates and/or further afield to help some of the most vulnerable groups and individuals in the world.

We believe it is very important to give back to both the local community and to globally important causes, and that this should form a fundamental part of any modern, ethical business. This is also something that owners at timeshare resorts have clearly showed that they are interested in too, as whenever there are fundraising initiatives to raise money for charities or worthy causes, owners are more than happy to help donate and also help raise awareness. It is brilliant to see how much support the owners at RDO member resorts are happy to give towards these various charities and we are very confident that this will continue to become stronger in the future.

What if a resort was able to combine their speciality in providing amazing holidays with an excellent charitable initiative? Well CLC World Resorts & Hotels announced late last year that they would be doing this in 2017 with the launch of CLC World Charity Holidays, designed to help give holidays to those that really deserve a relaxing break!

For many people reading this blog post, it is almost taken for granted that we should be able to enjoy at least one or two holidays every year, be what we often don’t consider is that there are many people that are unable to do this because of financial or time constraints. Unfortunately this is frequently the case for carers, who volunteer to support friends, families and their local communities. Being a carer is a very noble and generous thing to do, but it is also highly time consuming and can be very stressful. This means that those that are giving so much time and energy to other people rarely have the opportunity to enjoy a holiday which is a big shame, because holidays are one of the best ways to unwind and de stress.

The Charity Holidays programme will see CLC World donate 333 weeks of free accommodation to a selection of charities and their service users this year, to mark the brand’s 33rd year of operation. All CLC World resorts in Austria, Spain (the Costa del Sol and Tenerife), Turkey (the Aegean Coast), USA (Orlando) and the UK are participating in the scheme.

The charities that CLC World will be working with as part of this amazing scheme will be able to offer their beneficiaries, partners and families the opportunity to enjoy a week’s free accommodation and use of the resort’s extensive facilities. CLC World Resorts & Hotels is Europe’s largest independent resort operator and developer so there is a huge choice of options across Europe and the US and it certainly is a very commendable donation.

Before this most recent initiative CLC World Resorts & Hotels has worked extensively with a number of different charitable organisations including the Cystic Fibrosis Holiday Fund, Carers Trust and Help for Heroes. As part of the CLC World Charity Holidays programme the company will be further increasing its focus on charitable giving in 2017 which RDO greatly welcomes.

UK Operations Director at CLC World Resorts & Hotels, Graham Wilding has said:

“CLC World has a long history of supporting well-deserving charities and we are excited to be launching a programme that we know will make a lasting difference. Many of us take going on holiday for granted but this can be a challenge, particularly for those who need to provide care for a loved one. CLC World Charity Holidays has been designed to help change this and turn going on holiday into a reality for those who need it most. We look forward to increasing the number of charities we work with over the coming year to extend our programme reach.”
