RDO5 Countdown – What Can Delegates Expect?

As the countdown starts for this year’s Conference RDO5 – 18-20 September at the Pestana Chelsea Bridge Hotel in London, Head of RDO’s Conference Working Group, Robin Mills, explains more about what delegates can expect:

Are you looking forward to RDO5?
Of course I am!  I’m confident it will be a great event, with lots of opportunities to ask questions, discuss solutions, share our expertise, and plenty of time for networking too. I also expect there will be a generally positive atmosphere, as the economy is improving and most European countries have started to turn the corner – some more than others – and we have started to see growth in our industry again.

Why did you choose London?
London works very well as a location and delegates enjoy it!  It is a great city, at the heart of business and innovation, and the Pestana Chelsea Bridge Hotel has proven to be a fantastic venue.  We are trying to offer a mixture of environments at our RDO conferences, alternating a more business-like atmosphere in an urban environment, such as London, with a more relaxed atmosphere in a leisure resort such as Marbella.    We are pleased to be back in London this year, and we’ll return to Marbella next year.

Will anything be different this year?
I think this time the conference will be more thought provoking.  You can tell by the sort of forward-thinking speakers that we have lined up. Historically, we have been more reactionary and allowed external matters to dictate the course our industry takes.  It’s time we had a say in our future and started plotting it ourselves, and we are doing that by working together.

‘Stronger together’ is this year’s theme, what does it mean?
The clear message we got from RDO4 is that standing together we are stronger.  Together we can build on what has been achieved so far and stay ahead of the game. We are stronger together as we take on new challenges such as those posed by claims companies, for example.  And, by working more closely with other associations such as ARDA and TATOC, we are also stronger together as we move forward. We see this as an all-encompassing theme that undoubtedly will run through RDO5.

What are the highlights this year?
We really have a superb line up of keynote speakers this year, with business strategist Dean Van Leeuwen, co-founder of Tomorrow/TodayGlobal and an expert on the disruptive forces changing the world; Gerd Leonhard, who has been described as one of the leading media futurists in the world; and the welcome return of BJ Cunningham, who knows all about superbrands, and how to build one.  We’re also delighted to welcome business leadership coach Jeff Grout as our moderator for RDO5.

What else does RDO5 offer for delegates?
For delegates, the RDO conference is their one chance a year to network with some of the top brains in the timeshare and fractional industry.  They will be able to make new contacts and pick new ideas, while also being reminded of old principles, all of which can help them improve their businesses.  And I’m sure they will have a great time at our social events too!

A final word about RDO5?
I would like to thank our sponsors – CLC World Resorts, Diamond Resorts International, Holiday Club Resort Oy, Interval International, RCI, Shawbrook Bank, Generator Systems, Perspective Magazine and Pestana Hotels & Resorts. Without their support it would not be possible to organise something like RDO5.  I do believe this has become the must attend event of the year for the timeshare and fractional industry and look forward to welcoming all our friends and colleagues at RDO5.
