Introducing RDO7 keynote speaker, Kriss Akabusi
RDO is delighted to confirm that Kriss Akabusi will be giving the opening keynote at this year’s RDO7 Taking Ownership Conference which is taking place in London between the 20th-22nd September 2016. Kriss is famous for his achievements in athletics in which his greatest individual triumph was winning the gold medal at the 1990 European Championships. He famously beat David Hemery’s British 400m hurdles record which had stood for 22 years, and his own record still stands 23 years later.
In 1992 as three times Olympic medallist, and a World, European and Commonwealth Champion, Kriss was awarded an MBE. To compliment his 20 plus years experience gained through professional speaking, training and facilitating workshops in the corporate arena, Kriss is currently working on a two year MBA (Masters in Business Administration) program at Ashridge Business School.
Kriss is also passionate about charitable projects and is highly dedicated to helping those in need. In order to be able to better promote these charitable goals, he founded The Akabusi Charitable Trust (TACT), of which he is also the chairperson. This charity has two main objectives. The first goal is to work with young people in the UK, NEET (not in education employment or training) which unfortunately remains a significant problem.
The second objective of the TACT is to promote the social and economic development of communities in poverty in Nigeria which is where Kriss’ parents originate from. The work undertaken by TACT in Nigeria is very important and includes funding projects in the areas of water and sanitation, social enterprise, and health and education. The charity aims to make a real and lasting positive difference in Nigeria, a country which is growing rapidly but still has a long way to go in terms of reducing inequality.
Kriss is a highly engaging and passionate speaker with a wealth of knowledge and valuable experience to share with the audience at this year’s RDO7 conference. He is a perfect choice to talk about “Taking Ownership” as this is something that he has done throughout his life and various careers. His early childhood years were very difficult but he has been able to overcome adversity and enjoy a highly successful athletic and business career. Kriss is definitely looking forward to sharing his knowledge and life experiences with delegates, and will be daring you to be different, and challenge the status quo in order to reach your true potential just as he has done!
Here is a video of Kriss talking about all the engaging information, life stories and facts that our delegates can expect from his keynote speech at the RDO7 conference in September. Kriss will definitely be providing the audience with some fantastic motivation for “Taking Ownership.”
