CLC World Resorts & Hotels is proud to have been a shortlisted finalist for the Business Charity Award ‘Charity Partnerships – Sport, Leisure and Travel’ relating to their charity initiative, CLC World Charity Holidays in partnership with Dreams Come True.
We would like to offer our congratulations to the winners, Haven and RNLI for their partnership with their vision of creating a truly ‘safe haven’ for the 2.9million holidaymakers who visit its parks each year.
Graham Wilding, UK Managing Director, said: “It was a privilege to be in the esteemed company of Wimbledon AELTC and WaterAid, British Airways and Comic Relief, and Haven with RNLI.
As a holiday company, we are in the fortunate position to provide “a break away to come together” for those most in need. Recognition of our CLC World Charity Holidays initiative and the support we provide to the charities we work with, such as Dreams Come True, is an honour.
Whilst we have been unable to provide holiday accommodation during the Covid-19 lockdown, we have continued to work closely with local charities. We have made accommodation available at our Spanish resorts for essential workers on the front-line, provided computers and iPads to allow those in hospital to contact their loved ones, and to celebrate International Nurses Day CLC World offered members who are health workers a week’s free accommodation.”
Since its inception in 2016, CLC World Charity Holidays has awarded almost 500 weeks of holiday accommodation to not only Dreams Come True but also a variety of causes including Cystic Fibrosis Holiday Fund, Carers Trust, Give Us Time and Bodie Hodges Foundation.
The Business Charity Awards recognise the outstanding contribution made by UK businesses to good causes. The awards recognise the role that individuals, teams and entire companies play in supporting charitable activity both at home and abroad.
