What to Expect at RDO8 Conference: Together Towards Tomorrow

For this year’s RDO Conference we have returned once again to the stunning Don Carlos Leisure Resort & Spa located in the amazing setting of Marbella. Of course, it is not only this gorgeous location that our attendees can look forward to though, but another exciting RDO Conference packed with inspirational keynote and guest speakers, superb networking opportunities and the promise of a fantastic time to be had by all.

As is the case with life in general, it is clear that there is practically nothing that be taken for granted in either the global economy, or the business world. It is increasingly clear that it is extremely important to collaborate, and never stagnate by remaining static. This is because one of the only factors that truly does seem to be constant is change. This means that the only certainty is uncertainty, so being able to adapt to different possibilities is vital, because if you aren’t prepared for different possibilities you’ll be left behind, as has happened to so many companies that were once household names (Kodak, Blackberry, Yahoo! to name just a few).

As these former famous companies and countless others prove, it is unwise to assume that what has worked in the past is guaranteed to continue to be effective in the future. Not only that, but as the pace and strength of technological change continues to grow every year, all sectors of the economy will become increasingly disrupted by new companies. These are not niche newcomers either but billion dollar brands. Just see how Google and Facebook have changed advertising forever, Uber has transformed how people choose to be transported, and AirBnb has completely altered the vacation accommodation market.

On the other hand, in terms of the global Travel and Tourism industry, the global situation is highly positive for brands such as as ours within this sector of the economy. People take their leisure time very seriously and love to travel, and the Travel and Tourism market continues to expand year on year as increasing numbers of people have a desire to experience different parts of the world. Along with this continued growth though has also come massive change, driven by substantial technological shifts, leading to the emergence of brands such as those mentioned earlier, and many more. Even in the previous decade we have witnessed major alterations in how people choose to book their holidays, where they choose to stay and what they expect from a vacation, and this is likely to further evolve.

The ‘genie is out the bottle’ so to speak and consumers are completely comfortable with using technology to search for and book their accommodation, flights, and excursions, to interact with companies via social media, and to read and leave reviews online. Things will not go back to how they were before and instead these changes will likely occur even more rapidly. While it would be easy to view all of these changes as negatives though, at RDO we see them as exciting possibilities for our industry to form more valuable relationships with our current and future owners and as a great way to grow the timeshare and shared leisure ownership industry.

For this year’s RDO Conference we chose the theme “Together Towards Tomorrow,” as we believe the best way for our industry to develop is to work together to face the changes of tomorrow. With one of the strongest guest communities within the travel and tourism industry, we have an amazing foundation to expand through strengthening our collaborations.

At this year’s conference we have some absolutely fantastic keynote speakers to help inspire and motivate you: Chris Baréz-Brown, Nigel Risner and Jamie McDonald. They have all come from different backgrounds and can draw on a whole host of unique life experiences. These have lead to them all becoming incredible motivational speakers who give keynote speeches at conferences and events all over the world, to a wide variety of businesses and industries.

Our keynote speakers will undoubtedly inspire RDO attendees in Marbella, with the perfect combination of their engaging personalities mixed with the superb knowledge and experience they have. This is undeniably a recipe for some highly successful keynote speeches. We also have an excellent selection of guest speakers, ready to talk about a number of different fascinating themes, in addition to our keynote speakers.
