‘Kaiser’ Court Case Update

The higher Court of Justice in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria has come to a decision on the appeal filed by Mindtimeshare against the order made by the Judge in San Bartolomé Court to close the Voyager Travel/Lifestyle Holiday (‘Kaiser’) case.

The appeal, filed by Mindtimeshare in July 2014, has been accepted, the Judge’s court order revoked and the case will now be re-opened.

The original case commenced with the arrests of 74 people in 2013 at the offices and sales decks of Voyager Travel, Lifestyle Holidays and other associated companies.  It is alleged that the companies made around €5million by defrauding approximately 2,000 holidaymakers, who made payments of between €5,000 to €30,000 for the guarantee of discounts of up to 70% at holiday accommodation.

One of the key individuals behind the companies, Eugen Kaiser, was amongst those arrested. A German national, Kaiser has been based in the Canaries since the 80s.

The Higher Court has said that it is clear that the investigation were not exhausted and the Court in San Bartolomé de Tirajana should undertake the judicial proceedings proposed by Mindtimeshare.

Member of the public with any queries should contact Mindtimeshare, which is officially party to the prosecution procedures, at customercare@mindtimeshare.com
