KwikChex given Trading Standards Hero award
KwikChex, which manages the Timeshare Task Force on RDO’s behalf, has been awarded a Chartered Trading Standards Institute (CTSI) Hero Award for its work in targeting fraudsters and protecting consumers through its close cooperation with Trading Standards and local law enforcement agencies.
Much of KwikChex’s focus has been on businesses targeting timeshare owners and in addition to providing guidance and assistance to consumers through its online and telephone services, it has provided expert witness testimony in a number of court cases in the UK, all of which have been successful.
KwikChex is a corporate affiliate member of the CTSI and has been vetted and approved by Trading Standards, having an official ‘Buy with Confidence’ accreditation since December 2016.
The CTSI Hero Awards celebrate those who make outstanding contributions towards consumer protection. KwikChex received its award at the CTSI Hero Awards 2019 ceremony in London on Tuesday 25thJuly. The award was presented to Chris Emmins, KwikChex director and co-founder, by Conor Burns MP, and Peter McVeigh from Status International, which sponsored this year’s Business Hero Award category (picture above, thanks to Trading Standards).
In a press release issued by Trading Standards, Senior Trading Standards Officer at BCP Council, Colston Nichols, said: “Its role in trying to stop scams or seek justice against the offenders is uncompromising and KwikChex has greatly helped to reduce consumer detriment, particularly within the Timeshare sector.”
